‘World Spins Madly On’ by The Weepies (Nettwerk Recs)

The Weepies are Steve Tannen and Deb Talan.  They paired up as a duo after solo careers and later married.  The band gained notoriety for their second album Say I Am You reaching #1 on the iTunes folk charts and with the single ‘World Spins Madly On’ also reaching #1 on the iTunes folk song chart.  Their second album entered the Billboard Top 200 at #31 and their third album is set to be released on Aug 31, 2010.  Stay tuned.

Introducing Howling Bells (Nettwerk/Independiente Recs)

 Howling Bells are a diligent live band.  They have toured with The Killers, Coldplay, Editors, Snow Patrol, Razorlight, etc.  Their self-titled debut album was dubbed #11 best album of the year by NME Magazine, #2 best album of the year by MusicOHM, #3 best album of the year by Drowned in Sound.

More Good Friends: Tyler James (Nettwerk/Son of Geert Recs) & Paper Route (Universal Motown Recs)

 American singer/songwriter Tyler James was roommates with a few of the guys from Paper Route.  Paper Route have been rocking out on tours supporting Owl City, Paramore, etc.  TJ is a brilliant poet/musician and recently left his 10 Out of Tenn tours to join up with the crew from Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros (Rough Trade/Vagrant Records).  He can also be heard on Brothers & Sisters and The Hills.  Tyler James’ brilliant song ‘Stay Humble’ can be heard here.
